The Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area is a bustling metropolis that over 3.1 million people call home, for good reason. Its beaches are some of the top in the state, with white sand and clear water. And the Tampa Bay Lightning, Rays (in our eyes!), and Buccaneers champions, too, call it home, bringing fans and an energy that cannot be denied. One would think that small-town Florida would be hard to come by in this portion of the gulf coast – but those who have visited Pinellas Park know otherwise.
Pinellas Park, Florida is nestled between St. Petersburg to the south and Clearwater to the north. Entering, it immediately feels as the type of town where everyone knows everyone. The community is incredibly interactive and interwoven, thanks largely in part to two major events in which the entire community comes together – the ChiliBlaze Chili Cookoff and Country in the Park. Before learning about the incredible events and whom they benefit, understanding England Brothers Park is key.
1992 was a tumultuous time for Pinellas Park. A rare Florida tornado swept through the area, destroying or damaging homes, businesses, and the local high school. England Brothers Construction stepped in and aided in rebuilding many, while keeping some choice scrap pieces. Once collected, the city had a thought – what if the scraps were used to build a hurricane-proof, low-maintenance venue stage? England Brothers worked closely with the Chamber of Commerce and an acoustics specialist on what resulted in England Brothers Park – a band shell built using materials from Pinellas Park’s toughest time, to lay the foundation for some of the city’s best.
ChiliBlaze Firefighter’s Cookoff and Country in the Park are two of the most well-known events in the area and occur every spring. The ChiliBlaze sets the stage for Country in the Park - the event takes place the day before the music show and his hosted by local firefighters. The best part? All proceeds – ticket sales, purchases inside the venue – go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Country in the Park is a free event that starts the following afternoon and features all-day music, shopping, and vendors on-site, which next year may include MÜV.
That’s right – the 38th MÜV Medical Cannabis Dispensary is opening its doors this fall at 7263 Park Boulevard North, next door to Starbucks and across the street from Black Label Marine Group and their fleet of boats. We are incredibly proud to join the close-knit, community-focused area of Pinellas Park. Be sure to subscribe for email notifications to receive the grand opening details straight to your inbox.
